What Sets IKAD Apart

What You Actually Get When You Hire IKAD

A lot of HVAC contractors look the same on paper. The differences show up in how the job actually runs, what's included in the quote, and who picks up the phone after the install.

Manual J Load Calc, Standard

Most furnace and AC replacements in Halton happen by guesswork: the new unit matches the nameplate on the old one. We do a Manual J calculation on every install (room count, square footage, insulation R-value, window orientation, infiltration rate) so the equipment matches your actual home, not the previous installer's mistake.

Fixed Pricing, Not Estimates

Every quote we send is a fixed price. Gas line upsizing, venting changes, condensate handling, electrical disconnect, old-equipment removal: priced upfront. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. No surprise add-ons on install day.

Owner On Every Custom Build

For custom homes and major retrofits, Mohanad walks the job at framing, before drywall, and again at final commissioning. Builders we work with know our crew lead by name. We don't sub the install to a sometimes-here contractor.

Where Halton Homeowners Usually Get Burned

In fifteen years across Oakville, Burlington and Milton, a handful of patterns come up over and over. Avoiding these is the practical difference between an HVAC contractor you call once and one you keep on speed-dial:

Equipment We Stand Behind

We're factory-certified or in good standing with most major North American HVAC manufacturers. The brands we install most often, and our honest take on each, look like this:

BrandWhat We Install MostWhy We Pick It
RheemR96V furnace, RA17 AC, Endeavor heat pumpBest parts availability in the GTA, solid 10-year warranty, fair price/performance.
LennoxSLP99V furnace, SL18XC1 AC, SL25XPV heat pumpPremium tier when comfort and quietness matter more than budget.
CarrierInfinity furnace, Infinity 26 AC, Infinity heat pumpBest zoning integration. Use with Carrier Infinity controls to get full modulating performance.
Mitsubishi Hyper-HeatCold-climate ducted & ductless heat pumpsBest low-ambient performance in the segment. Real heat at -25°C.
DaikinAurora & Fit heat pumps, multi-zone ductlessStrong inverter tech, good for additions and partial-home cooling.
GoodmanGMVC96 furnace, GSXC18 ACBudget tier with the same parent company (Daikin). Honest mid-tier choice when total cost matters.
NavienNPE-A2 tankless, NCB combiBest-value tankless and combi systems. Endless hot water with built-in recirculation pumps.
Viessmann / NTICondensing boilers, in-floor and snow-melt systemsPremium European engineering. The boilers we install in custom homes and heritage retrofits.

Seasonal HVAC Checklist For Halton Homes

A working HVAC system needs different attention at different times of year. Here's what we recommend for Oakville and Burlington homes:

Spring (Mar to May)

Book AC tune-up before May, replace furnace filter, clear outdoor condenser, swap humidifier from winter to summer setting.

Summer (Jun to Aug)

Filter change every 30 to 45 days, watch for ice on the indoor coil, check drain line clear, listen for short-cycling.

Fall (Sep to Nov)

Book furnace tune-up before October, test thermostat heat mode, replace filter, check humidifier water panel.

Winter (Dec to Feb)

Filter every 30 to 60 days, clear furnace vents of snow weekly, check carbon monoxide detector, watch for cold drafts at registers.

Frequently Asked

Common HVAC Questions From Halton Homeowners

How much does a new furnace cost in Oakville?

Most full furnace replacements in Halton fall between $3,800 and $7,200 installed, depending on capacity, efficiency tier (95% vs. 96–98%), variable-speed vs. single-stage, and whether your gas line, venting or thermostat needs updating. We'll quote the exact equipment for your home, no menu prices, no upsells.

Are heat pumps worth it in our Ontario climate?

Modern cold-climate heat pumps work efficiently down to about −25°C, which covers almost every Halton winter. We typically pair them with your existing furnace as a hybrid system, so the heat pump handles 80%+ of the heating hours on cheaper electricity and the furnace kicks in only on the coldest nights. The Ontario Home Renovation Savings (HRS) Program offers up to $7,500 for a cold-climate air-source heat pump, and the federal Canada Greener Homes Loan adds interest-free financing up to $40,000. Combined, these typically cover a meaningful chunk of the upgrade. (Note: the older Greener Homes Grant closed for new applicants in early 2024; HRS plus the Loan is what's active in 2026.)

Should I repair my old furnace or just replace it?

Our rule of thumb: if the unit is 15+ years old, the repair quote is more than 30% of replacement cost, or the heat exchanger has any visible crack, replace it. Cracked heat exchangers can't be safely repaired, and the CO risk on systems that old is real. A 2026 high-efficiency furnace also burns 20–30% less gas than what came out of most Halton basements in the early 2000s, so the math catches up fast.

Do you service my city?

We're based in Oakville and regularly work across Burlington, Milton, Halton Hills, Mississauga, Hamilton and Brampton. We'll travel further for custom homes and commercial work, just call.

Should I install central AC or a ductless mini-split?

If your home already has ductwork, central AC is almost always the better answer, quieter, hidden, lower per-ton install cost. Ductless is the right call for an addition or finished attic where extending the duct system isn't realistic, for a single hot bedroom that won't balance no matter what, or for a home with no existing ducts (rare in Halton outside of older country properties).

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we partner with established Canadian HVAC finance providers and can usually have approval back within an hour. We'll also walk you through Enbridge HER+ and the Canada Greener Homes Loan where they apply.
